The Carlton, perfectly situated
In the heart of the Bollenstreek (the bulb district) and the Hollands Duin - only five minutes from the sea lies the Carlton (about 1,5 mile).
The Carlton is surrounded by pine woods that are criss-crossed by public footpaths, offer many pleasant hours of recreation for those who like to samply nature and the sea air at the same time; form a natural border with the sand dunes, and lead to the lovely sandy beaches that stretch along the entire Dutch coastline.
Further inland are the buld fields that abound with color -- especially in the Springtime -- and leave many a lasting and fragrant memory in the minds of the holiday visitors. The highlight of the area is, of course, the beautifully designed gardens of the Keukenhof with its myriad of blooms and varieties.
There is plenty to see within only a short distance of the Carlton. The cities of Amsterdam, The Hague, Haarlem and Leiden are all within one hour's drive, and closer by are the villages of Hillegom, Voorhout and Warmond, each being typical of the villages in this part of the country and close to the lakes of the Kaag.
Noordwijk - the flowering seaside resort
In Noordwijk everything for the tourist has been thought of and you should soon feel at home in the friendly resort with its lovely beaches. For example you can hire a bike, play midget golf, go horse riding, take a boot trip, visit the farm museum, make day excursions or simply visit the shops or take a seat on one of the sunny terraces. In the evening there is also plenty of entertainment with numerous Bars and Discos, in fact something to suit everyone.
Quite simply, the Carlton is the perfect all-round holiday centre for leisurely days spent lounging by the swimming pool, or as the home base for those who prefer to travel about.
